In particular, 56.3% of companies operating in the agro-industrial complex recorded losses, which is the worst result among all sectors of the economy for the period. For comparison, in the same quarter of 2024, the share of loss-making agribusinesses was 38.2 percent.

As emphasized to the publication a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina, "this is the worst indicator among all types of economic activity for the 1st quarter of 2025".

"How this sad statistic will change by the end of 2025. - It is unknown, but stopping already this week "trade visa-free zone" with the EU, according to the estimates of business associations, will have the most negative impact on the agro-industrial enterprises, more than 52% of exports to the EU countries," - said Nina Yuzhanina.
