The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released a fresh forecast for the sugar market in Ukraine and the world in the 2025/26 marketing year (MY) season. According to the report, the volume of sugar production in Ukraine will amount to 1.49 million tons, which is 310 thousand tons less compared to the previous season.

This is reported by Dengi.ua with reference to data USDA report.

The export of Ukrainian sugar, according to experts, will reach 700 thousand tons, which is 31 thousand tons less than in 2024/25 MY. The final stocks of products in the country will also decrease and will amount to 679 thousand tons - it is by 122 thousand tons lower than last season.

As for the global market, USDA analysts forecast growth of world sugar production by 8.6 million tons - up to 189.3 million tons. The main contribution to this growth will be made by Brazil and India, whose increase in production, according to calculations, will more than compensate for the decline in the countries of the European Union.

International trade in sugar, on the contrary, will decline to 65.2 million tons, which is 2.27 million tons less than the previous figures. This will be due to lower exports from the EU and Thailand.

At the same time, the final world sugar stocks, according to the forecast, will increase to 41.2 million tons - an increase of 2.9 million tons. Increased volumes in India and China were named as the main factors behind the growth of stocks.
