As of September 8, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 32.2 million metric tons of grains and legumes across an area of 6.85 million hectares, representing 59% of the projected total. The average yield for the harvested areas stands at 47 metric centners per hectare. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The wheat harvest has entered its final stage, while farmers have already fully harvested barley and peas. Specifically, 24.91 million metric tons of wheat have been harvested from 5.04 million hectares, which corresponds to 98% of the planned area. The average yield was 49.4 metric centners per hectare.
Barley has been harvested from all planned areas - 1.48 million hectares. The gross harvest reached 6.4 million metric tons, with a yield of 43.4 metric centners per hectare. Peas have also been fully harvested: 795,200 metric tons were threshed from 298,200 hectares, with an average yield of 26.7 metric centners per hectare.
The harvest of late-season grain crops is continuing. 34,000 metric tons of millet have been threshed from 14,500 hectares - or 35% of the total area - with a yield of 23.4 metric centners per hectare. Buckwheat has been harvested from 7,700 hectares - 16% of the projected area. A total of 10,900 metric tons was harvested at a yield of 14.2 metric centners per hectare. The corn harvest has also begun: the first 43,200 metric tons were threshed from 12,100 hectares, with an average yield of 35.9 metric centners per hectare.
The largest volumes of grain so far are coming from farms in the southern and central regions. In the Odesa region, 4.82 million metric tons of grain have been harvested from 1.19 million hectares. This includes 3.22 million metric tons of wheat from 773,200 hectares, 1.31 million metric tons of barley from 308,700 hectares, and 284,900 metric tons of peas from 106,900 hectares.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the total harvest amounted to 2.69 million metric tons from 650,600 hectares. Wheat yields totaled 2.04 million metric tons from 462,900 hectares, barley - 574,600 metric tons from 159,100 hectares, and peas - 37,000 metric tons from 16,200 hectares.
Farms in the Kirovohrad region harvested 2.42 million metric tons of grain from 559,000 hectares. Of this total, 1.92 million metric tons were wheat, harvested from 426,400 hectares; barley - 412,500 metric tons from 98,000 hectares, and peas - 82,000 metric tons from 31,300 hectares.
In terms of yield, farms in the Khmelnytskyi region lead the way with 70.8 metric centners per hectare. They are followed by the Sumy region with 59.7 metric centners per hectare and the Vinnytsia region with 59.6 metric centners per hectare.
The rapeseed harvest in Ukraine is complete. The total volume of the harvested crop amounted to 3,828,600 metric tons.
At the same time, farmers have begun harvesting late oilseed crops. So far, 89,300 metric tons of sunflowers have been harvested from the first 56,000 hectares, which accounts for 1% of the projected area. The average yield is 15.9 metric centners per hectare.
Soybeans have been threshed from 45,300 hectares, or 3% of the projected area. A total of 79,900 metric tons of this crop has been harvested, with an average yield of 17.6 metric centners per hectare.
