As of September 15, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 6,892,000 hectares, which accounts for 59% of the planned area. The total harvest of grain and legume crops reached 32.37 million metric tons, with an average yield of 4.7 metric tons per hectare (47 c/ha). This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing data provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The harvest of the main early grain crops is nearly complete. Farmers have harvested wheat from all planned areas, threshing 24.93 million metric tons of grain from 5.04 million hectares, with an average yield of 4.94 metric tons per hectare (49.4 c/ha).
The barley harvest is also 100% complete across 1.48 million hectares. Farms harvested 6.41 million metric tons of the crop, with an average yield of 4.34 metric tons per hectare (43.4 c/ha). Peas were harvested from 299,110 hectares, with a gross yield of 797,530 metric tons and an average yield of 2.67 metric tons per hectare (26.7 c/ha).
The highest grain yields were recorded in the Khmelnytskyi region - 70.7 c/ha, the Sumy region - 59.7 c/ha, and the Vinnytsia region - 59.3 c/ha.
In terms of total volume, the Odesa region leads with 4.82 million metric tons. The Dnipropetrovsk region harvested 2.69 million metric tons, and the Kirovohrad region - 2.42 million metric tons.
In the Odesa region, wheat yielded 3.22 million metric tons from 773,200 hectares at an average yield of 41.7 c/ha, while barley yielded 1.31 million metric tons from 308,700 hectares. Peas were harvested from 106,900 hectares, yielding 284,900 metric tons at a yield of 26.7 centners per hectare.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, 2.04 million metric tons of wheat were harvested from 462,900 hectares, with a yield of 44.1 c/ha. The gross barley harvest totaled 574,600 metric tons from 159,100 hectares, with a yield of 36.1 c/ha. Peas amounted to 37,200 metric tons from 3,200 hectares.
In the Kirovohrad region, farmers harvested 1.92 million metric tons of wheat from 426,400 hectares, with a yield of 45.1 c/ha. Barley production totaled 412,500 metric tons from 98,000 hectares, and an additional 82,000 metric tons of peas were harvested from 31,300 hectares, with a yield of 26.2 c/ha.
At the same time, farms continue to harvest late-season grain and oilseed crops. As of September 15, 167,670 metric tons of corn had been harvested from 35,000 hectares, representing 1% of the projected area, with an average yield of 48.2 c/ha.
Sunflowers have been harvested from 275,380 hectares - 5% of the projected area - yielding a gross harvest of 526,620 metric tons, with an average yield of 19.1 c/ha. For soybeans, 325,780 metric tons were harvested from 167,510 hectares (11% of the projected area), with an average yield of 19.4 c/ha.
Millet harvesting has been completed on 51% of the projected area: 51,120 metric tons were harvested from 20,820 hectares, with an average yield of 24.6 centners per hectare. Buckwheat has been harvested from 18,240 hectares (38% of the forecast), with a gross yield of 26,460 metric tons and an average yield of 14.5 c/ha.
