From January to November 2024, Ukrainians spent an average of 12.7 billion UAH per month topping up gambling accounts. In December, this surged to 19.4 billion UAH.

This data was shared by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak in his telegram channel.

These figures reflect only the legal market, where taxes are paid. The total is likely higher due to shadow operations.

“Not everyone loses — some money returns as winnings. Still, it’s a sad fact that during wartime, people spend almost 20 billion a month on this type of entertainment,” said Zheleznyak.
