Ukraine has launched an automatic system for checking whether foreign carriers have paid fines issued by the State Transport Safety Service (Ukrtransbezpeka),  the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development announced.

“When a vehicle is leaving Ukraine, customs officers can now automatically detect unpaid fines. Foreign carriers must pay these fines before they can exit the country,” the statement said.

Similar systems operate in neighboring countries and apply to Ukrainian carriers as well.

The integration has been fully functional since February 20. In its first week, 755 fines totaling nearly UAH 6.9 million were paid by foreign carriers. These include fines issued in 2024.

In total, 3,237 fines worth UAH 21.6 million were issued to foreign carriers last year. Of that, UAH 11.7 million has been paid, including fines settled after the automated system was introduced.
