In April 2025, the value of the general index of the Barometer of Business slightly decreased, reaching -11.6 points (1.9 point drop), thus remaining in the zone of prevailing negative expectations.

It is noted that pessimistic moods cover all sectors of the economy. However, in the construction sector recorded a weakening of negative expectations - the index amounted to -3.8 points, which is 7.4 points higher than the previous month.
A slight deterioration in expectations is reported in the manufacturing, trade and service sectors, with -13.7 (down 3.8), -15.5 (down 0.8) and -5.0 (down 0.6) points respectively.
In addition, regardless of the scale of business, the prevalence of negative assessments remains in all groups. Moreover, the greatest increase in pessimism is observed among microenterprises (-10.8; decrease by 2.7), small (-12.4; decrease by 6.1) and medium-sized companies (-13.2; decrease by 0.4). The exception is large companies, where an improvement in expectations was recorded - the index improved by 6.7 points and amounted to -7.0.
Estimates of exporters also correspond to the general trend - their expectations became slightly more pessimistic, reaching -11.3 points (down by 2.2).
At the same time, when asked about the restoration and strengthening of market control over products, 44% of business representatives spoke in favor of this measure, considering it as a way to ensure consumer rights and fair competition. At the same time, 30% consider such an initiative untimely or fear an increase in the administrative burden. Only 16% of survey participants do not expect tangible consequences for their business.
