In 2024, only 41% of state-owned enterprises in Ukraine filed financial statements, which is 671 companies out of the total number of registered companies. The rest - 963 companies, or 59% - did not submit reports. Among those who reported, 41% (277 companies) turned out to be unprofitable, which is almost equal to the figure for 2023.

Rivne region became the only region where all state-owned enterprises reported on time. The regions that are in the war zone or temporarily occupied received the least number of reports: only 5 percent of companies from Donetsk Region and 9 percent from Kherson Region.

Pavlograd Chemical Plant turned out to be a successful state-owned enterprise in terms of financial results. Its annual income grew 3.5 times, reaching UAH 29 billion, and its profit amounted to UAH 6 billion - the highest figures among all state-owned companies.

The second place in terms of revenue was taken by Forests of Ukraine, earning UAH 23 billion. The company is third in terms of profit - UAH 2.5 billion.

Closing the top three in terms of income is Ukrspetsexport, which received 13 billion UAH - this is 2.3 times less than in 2023. At the same time, the company's profit amounted to UAH 94 mln.

The Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine became the second most profitable among state-owned companies, earning UAH 2.7 billion. In terms of revenues, it is in fourth place - 6.3 billion UAH.

At the same time, the top 5 unprofitable state enterprises in 2024 look like this:

  1. Eastern Mining and Processing Plant - losses of UAH 1.2 billion;
  2. Boryspil Airport - UAH 1.1 billion;
  3. Regional Power Grids - UAH 732 million;
  4. "Lvivvugol" - UAH 301 million;
  5. "Energorynok" - UAH 261 million.
