In August 2025, Ukraine increased its electricity exports by 60% compared to July to 450,000 MWh. This is a record monthly figure since the integration of the Ukrainian energy system into the European ENTSO-E network. This is reported by Dengi.ua with reference to ExPro .
It is noted that the largest buyers were Hungary (38%) and Moldova (29%).
In August, more than 170,000 MWh were exported to Hungary, while imports in this direction amounted to 110,000 MWh. As a result, in June-August, electricity exports to Hungary reached over 380 thousand MWh, which is 27% higher than imports.

Electricity imports to Ukraine in August also increased, but only by 2.5% compared to July - up to 264 thousand MWh. The growth of supplies was recorded almost in all directions, except for Poland and Slovakia. Hungary remains the main source of imports, accounting for 41% of the total.
Compared to August 2024, electricity imports decreased by 44%.
Thus at the end of August 2025 Ukraine was a net exporter of electricity.
