Ukraine will soon start controlled export of arms of its own production to strengthen the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and fill the state budget for the needs of the army. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Dengi.ua .

According to him, there are clear volumes of weapons required by our army until the end of this year, as well as needs for the next year and replenishment of army warehouses.

He also noted the need for sufficient funding for the production of weapons in Ukraine, including together with partners, and supplies of what the partners produce themselves.

"The deficit in financing for weapons production we will cover from this year, in particular, thanks to managed exports of some of our weapons. Through such managed exports, we will increase the production of drones for the front. We will have money. Some types of weapons - and these are modern weapons - we can produce in much larger volumes than we can finance ourselves, and we already have certain types of weapons in much larger volumes than we really need in Ukraine today," Volodymyr Zelensky said.

As an example, the president cited naval drones, which partners count on and which Ukraine has a surplus of, as well as anti-tank weapons and some other types.

The head of state also prioritized the provision of the country with armaments, namely:

  • the first priority is the front, the provision of our brigades,
  • the second priority - Ukrainian arsenals
  • third priority - managed exports.

"Within two weeks a concept will be presented - three new export platforms. The first platform - for export and interaction with the United States, the second platform is our European partners, the third direction - other partners in the world, also interested in Ukrainian weapons and from whom Ukraine has received one or another support," - said Zelensky.

At the same time, he noted that Ukraine would not engage in "armed charity" and help those who do not care about our country. Therefore, we will work with those who supported Ukraine really, and under reliable export control, so that Ukrainian technologies do not fall into the hands of the Russians and their allies.

"There has been a lot of talk about this from our Ukrainian companies, arms manufacturing companies. There is a lot of interest in the world in common projects with Ukraine to produce weapons. There is also a clear demand for our weapons. Accordingly, thanks to just managed exports, we will be able to accumulate money for more production of those things that our army needs," - said the President.
