Ukraine to Receive About EUR 3 Billion from the EU: Funding Has Already Been Approved

Ukraine will soon receive nearly EUR 3 billion in financial support from the European Union as part of the Ukraine Facility program. The decision to allocate the eighth regular tranche was approved by the EU Council on September 24 after Kyiv implemented the required reforms. Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi announced this on the Government Portal, as reported by Dengi.ua.

EU Approves New Tranche for Ukraine

The Council of the European Union has approved the disbursement of nearly EUR 3 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility. The funds will be provided after Ukraine fulfills ten specific milestones outlined in the program’s plan.

According to the EU Council, Ukraine has so far completed 84 out of 95 milestones set out in the Ukraine Facility Plan, or about 88% of the steps planned for this stage.

At the same time, nearly EUR 800 million from the new tranche will be provided for the first time under the Loan in Support of Ukraine.

What the Prime Minister Said

Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi highlighted the importance of European funding for the Ukrainian economy and the functioning of the state amid a full-scale war.

“This support is crucial for ensuring Ukraine’s financial stability and the state’s ability to continue functioning amid a full-scale war,” Koretskyi emphasized.

The head of government also thanked European partners for their support and expressed his expectation that the funds would be transferred soon.

“We expect these funds to be transferred as soon as possible,” he added.

Funds Are Tied to Reform Implementation

The allocation of funds under the Ukraine Facility is contingent on Ukraine’s implementation of reforms agreed upon with the EU and other targeted measures. Among the conditions taken into account when making the decision were steps in the areas of the judicial system, energy, rail transport, the banking sector, and the state agricultural registry.

The new tranche will be the eighth regular disbursement under the Ukraine Facility. The European Commission previously reported that, as of June 2026, more than EUR 29.5 billion had already been transferred to Ukraine under the program. The EU Council adopted the official decision on the nearly EUR 3 billion on September 24, 2026.
