The cooperation between Spartak Retail and Entertainment Complex (REC) and UNBROKEN Ukraine is aimed at supporting veterans in their daily lives after injuries. This was stated in a blog by Roksolana Pyrtko, CEO of Roksolana Mall and Spartak REC.

“For many defenders who were wounded, even ordinary things—taking an escalator or going shopping—can be a serious challenge. We want to make this path as comfortable and dignified as possible. This is our way of supporting people who paid a high price for Ukraine’s freedom,” wrote Roksolana Pyrtko.

She emphasizes that a modern retail and entertainment complex is more than just a commercial space. In wartime, it should become a place of recovery, socialization, and shared memory.

“We strive to make Spartak an environment where veterans feel not isolated, but part of the community. This is extremely important for their psychological adaptation,” she noted.

The partnership includes the development of inclusive infrastructure: convenient ramps, elevators, tactile elements, and information boards.

“For us, accessibility is not an option but a standard. It helps people with prosthetics or other limitations to move forward with confidence again,” explained Roksolana Pyrtko.

The blog also highlights that international experience confirms: accessibility of public spaces significantly accelerates veterans’ socialization. According to research in the USA and Europe, veterans who have access to inclusive spaces restore social connections faster and show better adaptation results.

“For us, this contribution is no less important than donations or volunteer activities. It is about the dignity of those who gave their strength and health for the country,” concluded Roksolana Pyrtko.
