Ukraine and Norway have agreed to launch the joint production of Ukrainian medium-range attack drones. This marks the first project of its kind, involving the manufacture of several thousand drones on Norwegian territory. All produced equipment will be transferred directly to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this news, as cited by Dengi.ua .

The project will be fully funded by the Norwegian side, utilizing additional capital above the already pledged $7 billion in defense aid for Ukraine in 2026.

The agreement was signed in Kyiv by Norwegian Ambassador Lars Ragnar Aalerud Hansen and Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister for European Integration Serhiy Boyev. The document creates opportunities to scale up Ukrainian technologies that have already proven their effectiveness on the battlefield, while simultaneously strengthening the defense capabilities of both nations.

In total, Norway plans to allocate more than $1.5 billion in 2026 for the purchase of Ukrainian-made weapons to support the Ukrainian army.

The first unmanned systems produced in Norway are expected to arrive in Ukraine by the summer of this year. Furthermore, the agreement establishes a framework for broader industrial cooperation, encompassing scientific research and joint development initiatives.
