In April 2026, Ukraine exported 5.7 million tons of agricultural products, representing a 2.8% increase over the previous month. While grain exports surged by 10%, the oilseed category experienced a 42% drop. This data was published by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), as reported by Dengi.ua.

Dominant Export Crops

Grains held the largest share of April’s agro-industrial exports, totaling 4.0 million tons. The breakdown includes:

  • Corn: 67% of grain exports.
  • Wheat: 32%.
  • Barley: 1%.

Vegetable oil exports reached 503.8 thousand tons, a slight 1% decrease. Sunflower oil remains the leader in this category (88%), followed by soybean oil (9%) and rapeseed oil (7%). Shipments of oilseed meal and cake amounted to 501.8 thousand tons, down 8% from March, with sunflower cake making up 73% of this volume and soybean cake 27%.

Factors Behind the Decline in Oilseeds

The oilseed category recorded the sharpest decline in the agro-industrial sector, falling 42%. In April, Ukraine exported 196.3 thousand tons of oilseeds:

  • Soybeans: 82% of the total.
  • Rapeseed: 14%.
  • Sunflower: 1%.

This reduction is primarily attributed to a decrease in the remaining stocks of oilseeds specifically designated for export. Exports of other agro-industrial products totaled 431.1 thousand tons, a 9% decline.

Market Drivers

The growth in overall agro-exports for April was primarily driven by increased shipments of grain, particularly wheat. Conversely, the visible reduction in oilseed exports reflects the natural depletion of export-oriented raw material supplies.
