Ukraine plans to start transferring money to the joint investment fund for reconstruction with the USA not earlier than 2030. At the same time, the mechanism of contributions provides for a long-term perspective, and the first transfers are expected in three to five years.
About it reports Forbes Ukraine with reference to the words of Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka on the air of a TV marathon.
As Kachka explained, this is due to the fact that the funds will come from the rent revenues of the budget received from the extraction of natural resources under licenses issued after the entry into force of the agreement.
"In peaceful conditions, this process takes three to four years, so payments will not start until 2030. The idea is that we receive aid now, and we will be able to pay for it through the fund for many years," Taras Kachka said.
He also emphasized that Ukrainian contributions should not be perceived as direct payments to the US side. According to him, these are investments that will later return to Ukraine.
"Profits from investments in Ukraine will be distributed among partners only if they are successful," the deputy minister specified.
