Sowing season-2025: farmers have sown more than 5.5 million hectares of spring crops and legumes

A total of 5.7 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops are planned to be sown in 2025.

As of the end of May , agrarians in all regions of Ukraine have sown 5.5 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, which is 97% of the projected area. About it writes the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, reports Dengi .ua .

Now the most sown corn - 3.94 million hectares (98% of the planned amount), followed by barley - 744.4 thousand hectares (96% of the expected amount), spring wheat - 217.1 thousand hectares (95% of the projected amount), peas - 212.1 thousand hectares (98% of the planned) and oats - 158.6 thousand hectares (98% of the expected amount). At the same time, buckwheat was sown on 66 thousand hectares (75% of the expected area), and millet - 66, 1 thousand hectares (87% of the projected amount).

The most sown areas in the following regions:

  • Poltava region - 557.3 thousand ha;
  • Chernihiv region - 489.7 thousand ha ;
  • Vinnitsa region - 393.8 thousand ha;
  • Sumy region - 390.6 thousand ha ;
  • Cherkassy Oblast - 387.7 thousand ha.

At the same time, technical crops were sown on the area of 7.38 million ha (93% of the planned amount), namely soybean - 2.23 million ha (92% of the expected area) and sunflower - 4.73 million ha (93% of the expected amount). The leader in the amount of sown sunflower is Dnipropetrovsk region - 805.4 thousand hectares.
