As of August 11, Ukrainian farmers had already harvested 26.13 million metric tons of new-crop grains and legumes, representing 49% of the projected area, or 5.63 million hectares. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
It is noted that, in particular, the following have been harvested:
- wheat - 4,066,200 hectares threshed, yielding 19.74 million metric tons at an average yield of 48.5 centners per hectare;
- barley - 1,287,200 hectares threshed, 5.68 million metric tons harvested at a yield of 44.1 centners per hectare;
- peas - 276.9 thousand hectares threshed, with 712.3 thousand metric tons harvested at a yield of 25.7 centners per hectare.
It is reported that farmers in the Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions lead in terms of harvest volumes for early grain and legume crops. Specifically:
- Odesa region – 4,058.2 thousand metric tons from an area of 960.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 2,532.3 thousand metric tons, barley – 1,284.8 thousand metric tons, peas – 241.1 thousand metric tons);
- Kirovohrad region – 2,329.4 thousand metric tons from an area of 536.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,839.3 thousand metric tons, barley – 408.1 thousand metric tons, peas – 82,000 metric tons);
- Mykolaiv region – 2,326,100 metric tons from an area of 653,800 hectares (wheat – 1,631,800 metric tons, barley – 587,500 metric tons, peas – 106.8 thousand metric tons).
- High grain yields are currently being recorded in the Khmelnytskyi (69.6 centners per hectare), Ternopil (61.9 centners per hectare), and Vinnytsia (59.7 centners per hectare) regions.
It is also noted that the rapeseed harvest is ongoing: to date, 1,190.7 thousand hectares have been threshed, yielding 3.22 million metric tons of seeds with an average yield of 27.1 centners per hectare.
