Ukrainian farmers are continuing the harvest. As of September 1, grain and legume crops have been threshed on 6,821.3 thousand hectares—about 58% of the planned area. A total of 31,941.7 thousand metric tons of grain has already been harvested from these fields. The average yield is 46.8 centners per hectare. This is reported by Dengi.ua, citing data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Wheat accounts for the bulk of the harvest. It has been harvested from 5,036 thousand hectares, or 98% of the projected area. The gross yield reached 24,762 thousand metric tons, with an average yield of 49.2 centners per hectare.
Barley has already been fully harvested: 1,475 thousand hectares have been threshed, yielding 6,366 thousand metric tons of grain. The yield was 43.2 centners per hectare. Peas have also been harvested from all planned areas - 298,000 hectares. Farmers harvested 790,000 metric tons with an average yield of 26.5 centners per hectare.
The millet harvest is still in its early stages: 9,200 hectares have been threshed, which corresponds to 22% of the projected area. A total of 20,000 metric tons of the crop was harvested, with an average yield of 21.9 centners per hectare. The corn harvest has also just begun: 0.38 thousand hectares have been harvested, yielding 0.7 thousand metric tons, with an average yield of 17.9 centners per hectare.
The Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions lead in total grain harvested. In the Odesa region, farmers harvested 4,820.8 thousand metric tons from 1,189 thousand hectares. This included 3,223 thousand metric tons of wheat, 1,312 thousand metric tons of barley, and 285 thousand metric tons of peas.
In the Kirovograd region, 2,422 thousand metric tons of grains and legumes were harvested from an area of 557 thousand hectares. Of this total, 1,924 thousand metric tons were wheat, 412 thousand metric tons were barley, and 82 thousand metric tons were peas.
Farms in the Dnipropetrovsk region harvested 2,659 thousand metric tons from 642 thousand hectares. The harvest included 2,040 thousand metric tons of wheat, 575 thousand metric tons of barley, and 37 thousand metric tons of peas.
The highest average grain yield is currently recorded in the Khmelnytskyi region - 70.8 centners per hectare. Next are the Sumy region with 60.1 centners per hectare and the Vinnytsia region with 59.7 centners per hectare.
Meanwhile, the rapeseed harvest is nearly complete. From 1,325.29 thousand hectares - or 99% of the projected area - farmers have harvested 3,794 thousand metric tons of seeds. The average yield for this crop is 28.6 centners per hectare.
The buckwheat harvest is also continuing. The Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Poltava regions have already threshed 1.98 thousand hectares, which accounts for 4% of the projected area. A total of 3,000 metric tons of buckwheat has been harvested, with an average yield of 15.3 centners per hectare.
In addition, the sunflower harvest has begun. So far, farmers have threshed 9,200 hectares and harvested 10,900 metric tons of seeds. The average yield for this crop currently stands at 11.8 centners per hectare.
