According to research Work.ua, 37% of employers reported cases of dismissal of men aged 18-22 years. Thus, more than a third of companies have already recorded the loss of young employees. About this reported [[link_local link_article_id="1823542 "]] Dengi.ua [[/link_local]].

The analysis showed that the scale of the problem depends on the size of the business. Among small companies with up to 10 employees, only 19% have noted layoffs. At the same time, among large employers with more than 1,000 employees, 60% of survey participants reported this difficulty.

The greatest concentration of layoffs was observed in certain areas of activity. They were most frequently reported by:

  • hotel and restaurant business - 65% of respondents,
  • retail trade - 59%,
  • food industry - 52%,
  • construction and woodworking - 47%,
  • wholesale trade, distribution, import and export - 43%,
  • transportation and logistics - 31%.

The problem is most acutely felt by large companies, as well as enterprises of the hotel and restaurant industry.

The experts paid special attention to the dynamics of youth presence in the labor market. According to Work.ua, applicants aged 18-22 years old make up no more than 16% of the total number of candidates, and mostly they are women. Usually, the share of men in this group is 35-38%, and women - 62-65%.

However, since the end of August there has been a decrease in the number of men in this category: now their share is only 31%.

At the same time, the analyzed resumes of men aged 18-22 years old, indicate that they are looking for work in the following categories:

  • "IT, computers, internet" - 14%;
  • "Sales, purchasing" - 8%;
  • "Retail trade" - 6%;
  • "Working specialties, production" - 6%;
  • "Secretariat, office management, ACHO" - 6%;
  • "Telecommunications and communications" - 6%;
  • "Marketing, advertising, PR" - 5%;
  • "Logistics, Composition, Foreign Economic Activity" - 5%;
  • "Service sphere" - 5%.

"At present, for the most part, experts do not undertake to predict the long-term consequences for the labor market. After all, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers may affect other categories of workers. For example, many employers fear that together with men of 18-22 years of age their mothers/wives/sisters, who may not have planned it before, may go abroad. On the other hand, such a decision could lead to young men aged 16-17 staying in the country. And in conditions of staff shortage, employers have become more willing to hire minors," the study said.
