Military Aid to Ukraine: US Congress Moves Closer to a Decision

The U.S. Congress has taken another step toward considering an initiative to support Ukraine and increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

The US House of Representatives has supported the continuation of debate on a petition providing military aid to Ukraine and imposing tougher sanctions against Russia. This was reported by Republican Congressman Don Bacon on the social media platform X, according to Dengi.ua.

According to the lawmaker, the decision was made by a majority vote. In total, 218 members of the House of Representatives voted in favor of continuing the consideration of the initiative, while 204 congressmen opposed it.

The congressman specified that American lawmakers are scheduled to hold a final vote on the approval of the decision the very next day.

"This is our Churchill moment, and we must pass this test," Don Bacon commented on the results of the vote.

The initiative includes further consideration of military support for Ukraine, as well as increased sanctions pressure on Russia. The final outcome of the document will depend on the results of the upcoming vote in the House of Representatives.
