Ukraine has increased the production of weapons for its own defense needs 35 times and today covers about 40% of the needs of the Defense Forces in weapons. About it reports "Suspilne", Dengi.ua .
According to the correspondent of the publication, this was told by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga at a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"Ukraine should become more and more self-sufficient. We must develop our defense industry and there are achievements - Ukraine is a leader in drone technology. We have increased our production by orders of magnitude - by some by 35 times, scaled the production of weapons for our defense needs. We can cover about 40% of the needs of our army", - said Andriy Sibiga.
The minister also noted that the Ukrainian defense industry produces, among other things, artillery shells of the NATO pattern and artillery systems.
"We need additional support for the production of Ukrainian additional types of weapons. We should not be dependent on any country for certain types of weapons: we have military experience, strong schools, we have the appropriate specialists," the Ukrainian foreign minister emphasized.
