The Biopharma Plasma company has 80% completed the construction of a plant for the production of medicines from blood plasma in Uzhhorod, the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on economic development, Dmytro Kisilevskyy, has said. According to him, the industrial premises have already been fully built, the construction and connection of energy infrastructure has been completed, in October the installation of production equipment will begin. Start-up and commissioning works are scheduled for the end of this year - beginning of next year.
It is noted that the launch of the first stage of production is scheduled for the first half of 2026. At the initial stage, the plant will produce target precipitates of blood plasma, which will be sent for further purification and formation of finished drugs to the enterprise "Biopharma Plasma" in Bila Tserkva.
It is planned to start construction of the second stage of the plant in Uzhgorod as early as in 2025, after completion of which the target precipitates will be processed locally. The volume of production of pharmaceuticals from blood plasma in Uzhgorod will be twice as large as in Bila Tserkva. It is planned to process up to 1.5 million liters of blood plasma per year.
At the same time they want to create 150 jobs at the enterprise. The company will attract specialists from Bila Tserkva for staff training and launch of the new plant in Uzhgorod. "Biopharma Plasma" intends to organize cooperation with local universities to train future specialists.
Nardep added that the construction of the plant in Uzhgorod began in the fall of 2024. The volume of planned investments in the new production is about 80 million euros. The enterprise will be export-oriented.
