Ukraine's largest oil and gas company has unveiled a series of initiatives that could be the first under a resource agreement with the United States. The document is aimed at supporting the Ukrainian economy in the conditions of war and strengthening political support for President Donald Trump. About this writes  Bloomberg, reported [[link_local link_article_id="1823542 "]] Dengi.ua [[/link_local]].

It is reported that the state holding company Naftogaz has prepared ten projects related to production and energy efficiency, its CEO said. At the same time, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko said that she plans to launch three of them by the end of 2026 with the help of the said fund. She said this after a meeting with the American organization managing the investment fund.

It is noted that according to the NATO Center of Excellence for Energy Security, Ukraine has one of the largest gas reserves in Europe.

"We want to be among the first projects in line," Naftogaz head Serhiy Koretsky emphasized to the publication.

According to him, the details of the proposals have not yet been disclosed for security reasons. At the same time, Koretskyy urged Western companies to make more active use of the licenses that are already in force in Ukraine. He recalled that Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Chevron Corp. started shale gas projects more than a decade ago, but stopped them in 2014 after the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in Donbas. In particular, the Oles field in the west of the country, where Chevron had planned to operate, remains available.

"If Chevron, which has a very deep understanding of this topic, this project, or any other companies with experience in shale gas development, will pay attention to this project in the west of Ukraine, we will be very happy," Koretsky said.
