The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is launching a mechanism of compensation of military risks for business. It is part of the policy of development of Ukrainian manufacturers "Made in Ukraine". This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, Dengi.ua .
"Businesses have demanded this tool since the first months of full-scale war: without war risk insurance it is impossible to plan work and recovery. Just in the last year alone, attacks on business facilities have more than tripled, financial guarantees are critically needed," - said the head of the government.
According to her, the compensations will be of two types.
- Frontline regions
Businesses from high-risk territories will be able to receive up to UAH 10 million in compensation for damaged or destroyed property as a result of attacks. After fixing the losses and submitting documents to PJSC "Export Credit Agency", the state will reimburse part of the losses within this limit.
- All of Ukraine
Under a model similar to "5-7-9%", the state compensates part of the cost of insurance premiums under war risk insurance contracts to reduce the rate for businesses to 1%. For example, if a company in Rivne region insures property worth UAH 50 million at a rate of 3%, the state will cover two-thirds of the cost of this insurance, but no more than UAH 1 million per year.
Sviridenko noted that the application can be submitted online on the website of PJSC Export Credit Agency or on the Diya.Business platform.
Losses from missile and drone strikes, air defense debris, fires, explosions and shock waves are subject to compensation. After the payment of compensation, the right to claim to Russia to compensate for damage within this amount is transferred to the state.
