Nova Poshta is reorganizing its logistics operations amid Russian attacks on its infrastructure. The company plans to transition to a decentralized fulfillment model, in which freight and post offices throughout Ukraine will be used as local warehouses. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing a post by Nova Poshta CEO Yevhen Tafiychuk.

According to the CEO, customers’ goods will be distributed across different locations. This approach will prevent the entire product range from being concentrated in a single large center and will help companies continue operations even in the event of new attacks.

“Nova Poshta” Lost Its Robotic Fulfillment Center

The decision to restructure the logistics model followed an attack on the night of August 28. As a result, Nova Poshta’s fulfillment center and sorting depot in Sviatopetrivske were destroyed.

This is not the first time the company’s infrastructure has been damaged by Russian attacks. However, this time, the company’s most modern robotic fulfillment center was destroyed.

“This isn’t the first time Nova Poshta’s infrastructure has been hit. But this time, we lost our most advanced robotic fulfillment center - the result of years of work, investments, and cutting-edge engineering solutions,” noted Tafiychuk.

What Will Change for the Business

Fulfillment refers to a set of logistics processes that a business outsources to a specialized company. It can include receiving and storing goods, picking orders, packaging, and delivering them to the customer.

Now, the plan is to distribute these operations among numerous Nova Poshta branches. This way, the destruction or damage to a single facility should not result in the loss of an entire business’s inventory.

The company is paying special attention to customers whose goods were destroyed during the attack.

Nova Poshta is already reaching out to publishers and bookstores that lost inventory. Together with its partners, the company is determining the scope of necessary resources and developing customized support mechanisms.

“We are currently in contact with every publisher and store whose books were destroyed. Together, we are identifying their needs and developing customized support mechanisms that will help our partners recover what was lost, print new editions, and continue their operations. “We are compensating for the losses caused by the enemy,” added the director of Nova Poshta.

In this way, the company intends to make its logistics system more resilient to attacks on individual facilities. Distributing goods among local warehouses should reduce business risks and ensure the ability to resume operations more quickly after attacks.
