Ukrainian Banks Increased Profits by 20%: Here's What They Earned in 2024

In 2024, Ukrainian banks earned UAH 103.7 billion in net profits - 20% more than in 2023, according to Opendatabot citing NBU data. Profit tax obligations reached UAH 83.72 billion (+14%).

52 banks reported UAH 104.12 billion in profit; 9 others reported losses totaling UAH 418 million.

Top 10 banks accounted for 85% (UAH 88.57 billion) of total profits.

PrivatBank earned 39% of the total: UAH 40.14 billion in net profit and paid a record UAH 40.86 billion in taxes - nearly half of all banking tax revenue.

State-owned banks earned UAH 67.19 billion (+23% vs 2023), or 65% of sector-wide profits. Oschadbank saw a threefold increase in profits.

Foreign-owned banks earned UAH 22.51 billion (22% of total), with Credit Agricole growing profits 1.5x. They paid UAH 22.99 billion in taxes (+3%).

Privately-owned banks earned UAH 14 billion in profits (+50% vs 2023). The highest growth came from MTB Bank - 6.8x increase. Taxes from this group rose 37% to UAH 12.37 billion (14.7% of total).
