In the first quarter of 2025, the budget received 41.3 million UAH due to the work of automatic truck weighing complexes Weigh-in-Motion (WIM). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territory Development.
"Thanks to the system of monitoring of axle load and total weight of vehicles on the road Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) introduced by the Agency of recovery, it is possible to control traffic around the clock, automatically record violations with minimization of the human factor," - stated in the message.
The data is automatically transmitted to the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, where it is processed by inspectors.
The most violations were recorded in three regions:
- Kiev region - 623,
- Dnipropetrovsk - 279,
- Poltava region - 132.
We are talking about exceeding the statutory size and weight standards by trucks, which not only increase the risk of accidents, but also damage roads and bridges.
"UAH 41 million is the equivalent of a solid map repair of about 5 kilometers of road. But the real indicator is how many kilometers of roads were saved thanks to WIM complexes," the Ministry added.
Today, 57 sites with WIM system have been restored on the roads of state importance, of which 55 register violations and penalize.
