Kyiv is strengthening airspace defense. The capital is launching a full-fledged system of interception of enemy drones heading for the city. 260 million hryvnias will be allocated for the realization of the large-scale project "Clear Sky". This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Timur Tkachenko, write Dengi.ua .

"The capital attracts more funds for the implementation of a large-scale project "Clear Skies", which provides for the protection of airspace with the help of domestic interceptor drones. For the implementation of the initiative will be allocated 260 million hryvnia," he wrote.

According to Tkachenko, the funds will be spent on the purchase of equipment and the creation of an effective response system. In particular:

  • an operator training center will be deployed - this is a specialized structure where specialists in drone interceptor control will be trained;
  • additional mobile units will be formed, which will be on duty in Kyiv and on the outskirts of the city.

According to the head of the KGVA, the work is being done in close coordination with the General Staff, Air Force and Defense Forces to achieve maximum synergy with the air defense system.

For a few months of pilot launch, the "Clear Sky" project in the Kyiv region has already proved its effectiveness: almost 550 enemy UAVs were intercepted.

"In addition, we are working on attracting extra-budgetary funds. This is an investment in the safety of every Kiev citizen. While the enemy attacks, we strengthen the defense. The sky above Kyiv will be clean," - added Tkachenko.
