In an interview with Dengi.ua noted Doctor of Economics, MP Lubov Shpak, commenting on the realism of filling the revenue side of the budget next year.

According to Shpak, in the draft state budget for 2026, the government proposed to allocate to the budget 146 billion hryvnias of the National Bank's profit for 2025. According to the NBU, the institution earned only UAH 51.2 billion in the first half of this year. Consequently, the question arises: how will the main bank of the country be able to earn another 94.8 billion hryvnias needed to fulfill the plan by the end of this year?

According to the MP, the only way to get such money is a significant devaluation of the hryvnia, approximately to the level of 44-45 UAH/$. After that, the National Bank will revalue its own assets and thus "earn" the necessary amount. Ukrainians, as noted by Shpak, should be prepared for the fact that a significant devaluation of the hryvnia will certainly entail a rise in prices.
