On October 24, the National Energy Regulatory Agency of Moldova (ANRE) approved a decision to halve the tariff for gas transit to Ukraine for the heating season of 2025-2026. This is reported by Dengi.ua with reference to press service of the agency.
It is noted that the changes concern the supply of gas coming from Greece. The cost of its transportation through Moldova will be reduced by 50 per cent.
It is reported that the decision was the result of joint agreements between the operators of the gas transportation systems of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine.
As ANRE emphasized, the initiative is aimed at strengthening regional energy security and ensuring natural gas supplies to Ukraine.
In particular, transportation tariffs will be reduced for the Moldovan operator Vestmoldtransgaz, while the Romanian company Transgaz also agreed to provide a similar discount.
At the same time, the reduced tariffs will be valid for six months - from November 2025 to April 2026.
