The cheese market in Ukraine continues to stagnate. The high cost of products does not allow domestic producers to restore sales volumes, and the seasonal decline in demand in mid-summer further aggravates the situation. This is reported by Infagro , write Dengi.ua .
"An additional challenge for Ukrainian cheese makers remains active competition from European producers who continue to increase supplies to Ukraine," the report said.
Despite the fact that in June cheese imports decreased by 16% compared to May, the total volume of imported products is still higher than last year
According to the results of the first half of 2025 imports of hard and semi-hard cheese to Ukraine increased by 15% compared to the same period of 2024. Also, 18% more white cheeses and 7% more processed cheeses were imported.
At the same time, exports of Ukrainian cheeses are also growing. In the first half of 2025, the volume of supplies of semi-hard cheeses abroad increased by 16% year-on-year.
