The Ukrainian agricultural sector concluded 2025 with an impressive milestone: the production of grain and leguminous crops increased by 8.2%, reaching 61.04 million tons. This represents the industry's highest output in the last four years. The figures were released by the State Statistics Service and reported by Dengi.ua .

To put this growth into perspective: in 2024, total cereal production stood at 56.43 million tons.

Harvest Structure: Corn and Wheat Maintain Dominance

The foundation of this record-breaking harvest was provided by Ukraine's two primary export commodities:

  • Corn: 30.9 million tons harvested.
  • Wheat:  23.3 million tons were harvested.

On a regional level, the highest yields for grain and legumes were recorded in the Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi regions. These areas emerged as the country’s leading agricultural contributors for 2025.

Decline in Industrial Crop Production

In contrast to the record-setting grain performance, the production of industrial (technical) crops saw a noticeable decline across all key categories:

  • Sunflower: The harvest totaled 10.2 million tons (down from 11.01 million tons in 2024).
  • Sugar beet: 11.68 million tons harvested.
  • Rapeseed: 3.2 million tons (a decrease of 0.4 million tons).
  • Soybeans: Approximately 5 million tons (a significant drop of 1.7 million tons compared to the previous year).
