A modern tractor factory may be built in Ukraine. Its creation was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval and representatives of LS Group (Republic of Korea), one of the leaders of South Korean industry, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
The parties discussed the state of Ukraine’s agricultural sector and the direction of potential cooperation. In particular, the construction of a modern tractor factory in Ukraine.
Koval noted that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is working on updating and modernizing the material and technical base of the agro-industrial sector. Therefore, regular meetings with leading global companies are a priority in order to create new opportunities for Ukrainian farmers.
In particular, joint production on the territory of Ukraine. This also aligns with the objectives of the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas in Ukraine until 2030.
According to the minister, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has lost more than 8,000 units of machinery and equipment, including more than 1,000 tractors. Therefore, such cooperation with a South Korean company is important for Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
"LS Group has many years of experience in manufacturing agricultural machinery and is ready to integrate advanced technologies into production in Ukraine. The South Korean company’s model range includes tractors with capacities from 30 to 150 horsepower. This is not just a potential investment, but a strategic step for the development of Ukraine’s agro-sector," emphasized Koval.
He noted that one of the Ministry's priorities is the development of vegetable growing, and this area requires tractors with capacities from 40 to 110 horsepower.
Therefore, cooperation with LS Group on tractor production, including the simultaneous use of drones that spray fertilizers and monitor fields, may be useful and effective for Ukrainian farmers, the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy added.
