Ukrainian entrepreneur Andrii Matiukha is a figure surrounded by controversy. The founder of Favbet and one of the leaders in the gambling market, he is also a philanthropist, benefactor, and strategist of the future. Through his namesake foundation, Matiukha invests in culture, medicine, education, and youth development — not as a superficial PR cover, but as real infrastructure for a new Ukraine.

Are Laws Needed to Do Good?

Unlike in countries where the law mandates business to fund culture (such as in the UK), Andrii Matiukha has chosen this path voluntarily. His foundation finances large-scale initiatives — from the Oscar-contending film We Were Recruits to the ORIGAMI for UKRAINE art project, implemented together with children and international foundations. Matiukha’s philanthropy is not a publicity stunt — it’s a belief system.

“I don’t care about reputation. I care about results. Art is also a weapon. And I’m ready to invest in it no less than I do in any business. People ask me why I do this. I answer: because I want to live in a Ukraine we can be proud of,” — says Andrii Matiukha.

When “Dirty Money” Saves Children’s Dreams

A part of society still views any initiative connected to gambling with suspicion. But what if this money goes toward:

  • treating wounded soldiers,
  • translating books,
  • art installations in Kyiv,
  • supporting children’s sports?

Matiukha’s foundation proves: what matters is not where the money comes from — but where it’s going.

Andrii Matiukha isn’t hiding behind a facade — he’s building it. And this facade is made of metallic paper, cinema screens, and children’s dreams. Instead of traditional “money laundering,” he implements a strategy of systemic impact. And it seems to be working.

Andrii Matiukha — An Architect of the Future

For Andrii Valeriiovych Matiukha, philanthropy is not about short-term campaigns, but long-term projects designed to last for years. His primary goal is to contribute to shaping a new generation of Ukrainians — raised in a healthy, cultured, and educated environment. He sees the path to this in partnerships between business, the state, and society, where private capital is effectively transformed into public good through transparent and effective mechanisms.
