Gambling business: 4 out of 10 largest casinos in Ukraine showed losses

The total revenue of the top 10 representatives of the gambling industry in 2024 increased by only 1% compared to the previous year.

The total revenue of the leading representatives of the gambling industry in Ukraine in 2024 amounted to 55.57 billion UAH - only 1% more compared to the previous year. Despite the overall growth, only six out of ten companies ended the year with a profit. While in 2023 all participants of the rating worked in the plus.

This is evidenced by data from the Opendatabot Index.

Favbet topped the list, which displaced last year's leader - Spaceiks (Cosmolot brand), which was in the eighth position in 2024. The absolute record holder in terms of profit was Slots U.A. (also known as SLOTOKING, Betking and 777), which showed a revenue of UAH 2.55 billion.

Also included in the rating were nine online casinos (three of which are also engaged in betting activities) and one lottery operator. Four of these ten companies changed owners during the year.

At the same time, the total profit of profitable companies amounted to UAH 4.34 billion - much less than in 2023, when it reached UAH 7.25 billion.

The leader in revenue was the betting and gaming platform Favbet (brand FAVBET), which doubled its revenue to UAH 21.32 billion, which is 38% of the total revenue of the market leaders. At the same time, net profit decreased by 20% to UAH 1.38 bln. At the end of the year, the company underwent a change of ownership: Andrei Matyukha was replaced by his son Dmytro.

The second place was taken by Slots U.A., which manages the brands 777 and SLOTOKING, recently renamed Betking. Its revenue grew 3.6 times to UAH 12.4 billion, and its profit was the highest among all - UAH 2.55 billion, which is 13 times more than last year. At the end of 2024, the company, owned by Pavlo Zhurilo, received a license to conduct betting activities.

The biggest increase in revenue was shown by Neytov's company APPS (Super Gra brand), increasing revenue by 7.7 times to UAH 4.68 billion and profit by 5.7 times to UAH 139 million. Its owner is a British citizen Irakli Chubini. In the rating the company has risen from ninth to fourth place.

The company Limon (brand ChampionCasino), owned by Andrei Pokrovsky, increased its income 1.8 times - up to UAH 2.54 billion. For the year its profit amounted to UAH 174 mln.

Among the new players in the rating was Starbloom Gaming (brand SLOTOR777), founded in 2023. It earned UAH 814 mln and made a profit of UAH 27 mln. The owner of the company is Vladimir Naumets.

The only lottery operator on the list was the Ukrainian National Lottery (UNL), which increased its income 1.5 times - to UAH 866 million. The company's profit increased almost six times - to UAH 56 mln.

Some companies, despite the losses, remained in the rating. It is, in particular, about:

  • Gamedev (brand SLOTS CITY) with revenue growth in 2.8 times - up to 6.98 billion UAH - suffered losses of 793 million UAH. In September 2024, the company changed its owner: Pavel Ciklikci replaced Yakov Finkelstein from Israel.
  • First Element (brand F1rst) increased revenue by 27% to UAH 2.54 bln, but ended the year with a loss of UAH 2.57 mln. The company's owners also changed in March 2025.
  • Spaceiks (brand Cosmolot), having ceded the leadership, reduced revenue 25 times - to UAH 1.12 bln and received UAH 906 mln of losses. In October 2024, the company was acquired by the American holding Nevada Gaming in partnership with German citizen Arnulf Neumann-Damerau.
  • Vbet (brand VBET) reduced revenue by 26% to UAH 2.29 billion, while losses amounted to UAH 425 million. Its owner is an Armenian citizen Rudolf Poghosyan.

In addition, the company Ukr Game Technology (PIN-UP) was dropped out of the rating, whose revenue halved to UAH 1.97 billion, while profit decreased 2.7 times to UAH 584 million.
