In 2025, the Ukrainian army will be able to receive weapons worth about 1.3 billion euros thanks to the implementation of the "Danish model". The creation of joint ventures brings the country not only defense advantages, but also has a positive impact on the economy, because each new production means jobs for Ukrainians and a contribution to economic growth. This is reported by Dengi.ua with reference to publication "Zerkalo Nedeli".

It is noted that joint defense projects with Western countries are already strengthening Ukrainian defense capabilities and at the same time laying the foundation for long-term technological cooperation after the end of the war. This approach also demonstrates Ukraine's integration into the NATO security system in Europe. The publication gives examples of such cooperation with various countries.

  • Denmark

Denmark is also actively involved in these processes in the technological sphere. Thus, Ukrainian and Danish companies have agreed on joint production of three types of unmanned aerial vehicles: attack drones, missile interceptors and long-range reconnaissance UAVs. It is also envisaged to establish branches of Ukrainian enterprises in Denmark to speed up logistics and increase production volumes.

  • Norway

Norway is also becoming Ukraine's key partner in maritime and air defense. The Norwegian company Kongsberg has opened a representative office in Kiev and launched joint projects for the production of unmanned surface vehicles (USV) and anti-missile systems. Implementation of these programs using NASAMS and RWS technologies allows Ukraine not only to obtain modern defense solutions, but also to become a part of European production chains.

  • United Kingdom

The United Kingdom finances and organizes the production of Ukrainian drones on its territory. According to the agreements reached, all UAVs produced will be sent to Ukraine until the end of the war, after which production will continue for the needs of both countries.

  • USA

With the USA, Ukraine has launched a unique production of special chemical components necessary for the production of ammunition. The joint venture with the U.S. company D&M Holding is designed to eliminate the shortage of critical substances and increase Ukraine's independence in the military sphere.

  • Germany

Germany is also deepening defense cooperation with Ukraine. In July 2025, the country began production of long-range missiles with Berlin's support. In addition, Rheinmetall and KMW have opened joint service companies specializing in the repair and production of armored vehicles and ammunition, which combines German engineering technology with Ukrainian production resources.

  • Other partners

The R&D center of Latvian Atlas Aerospace, an assembly plant for Colt CZ Group assault rifles from the Czech Republic and assembly facilities for Canadian Roshel armored vehicles are already operating in Ukraine. Such global defense giants as Baykar (Turkey), BAE Systems (UK), Northrop Grumman (USA) and others are planning to join them in the near future. In addition, France, Italy, Spain and Poland continue negotiations on the creation of joint production facilities, mainly in the field of unmanned aircraft and artillery ammunition.

As the publication writes, such active international cooperation shows that Ukraine is no longer just a recipient of aid, turning into an important element of the European security system and fully integrating into the defense chains of the West.

"Today, the peak potential of the Ukrainian defense industry is estimated at $45 billion, of which the domestic state order covers only up to $11.5 billion. That is, there are opportunities for growth and development. Potentially Ukraine can increase the volume of the defense industry several times more in the next few years," the publication reported.
