The Polish labor market is witnessing a gradual decrease in the number of workers from Ukraine. Some Ukrainian citizens decide to return home, while others move to Western European countries. The vacated jobs are increasingly occupied by migrant workers from Asia and South America, WNP.pl reports, according to Dengi.ua.

Michał Solecki, Director General of Worksol Group, noted that the process of replacing Ukrainian employees is already actively taking place. According to him, employers are successfully compensating for the personnel shortage by recruiting workers from Asian and South American countries.

He also believes that after the war ends, it may be difficult for many Ukrainians to re-enter the Polish labor market. Solecki explains this by the fact that companies that have already hired employees from other countries are unlikely to dismiss them for the sake of rehiring Ukrainian workers.

According to the study, the number of foreign workers in Poland has exceeded 1.17 million. This is approximately six times more than in 2015.

Although Ukrainians remain the largest group of foreign workers, their share is gradually decreasing. As of September 2024, there were about 779 thousand employed Ukrainian citizens in Poland.

At the same time, the number of workers arriving from Nepal, India, and the Philippines is rapidly increasing.

Vacancies for low-skilled manual labor, production plant workers, warehouse complex staff, as well as operators of various machinery and equipment, remain the most in demand.
