Cabinet of Ministers Allocates Billions for Weapons: Money Will Go to the AFU and Defense Industry

The funds will be used for the purchase of new weapons, modernization of equipment, and development of the Ukrainian defense industry.

The Ukrainian government will allocate UAH 10.8 billion from the special fund of the state budget for the procurement and production of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Dengi.ua .

According to the Prime Minister, the additional funds were successfully accumulated in a special budget fund, after which the decision was made to allocate them to defense needs.

"The government is directing an additional 10.8 billion hryvnias toward the procurement and production of weapons. The funds were accumulated in a special fund of the state budget and directed toward defense needs," Svyrydenko wrote.

Nearly UAH 2 billion will be allocated for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. This entails expanding production capacities and rapidly implementing new technologies directly on the battlefield.

The head of the economic block noted that the funding was made possible due to revenues from personal income tax, as well as licensing fees from gambling and lotteries.

"These funds have accumulated thanks to the tax on personal income, as well as license fees from the gambling business and lotteries," the Prime Minister explained.

Svyrydenko also stressed that the Ukrainian military and arms manufacturers continue to actively deploy modern technologies, which are being recognized by both Ukraine's allies and the enemy.

"The Ukrainian military and arms manufacturers together are carrying out a real technological revolution, which is recognized by both allies and the enemy. The government is doing everything possible to support these changes and help to quickly scale new technologies," she said.
